Police Chief Faces Inquiry Over Misconduct Claim

06 July 2012

The Chief Constable of Sussex Police is being investigated over an allegation of misconduct.

It is alleged Martin Richards may've used "undue influence" in relation to a force operation.

Sussex Police Authority says it voluntarily referred the matter to the police watchdog last month.

Mr Richards has not been suspended and has pledged to "cooperate fully" with the inquiry.
